Google/Blogger Platform for Angela's Voice Again: Months of WordPress Blog Posts Lost
Hi,
I kept getting 'change to Blogger' cues last night everytime I woke up... Like I was online, setting up a blogger blog on my AngelaChenShui domain, all over again.
My domain host's host had a security breach late last week and I woke to find all my sites offline! After about a day, all sites were back up EXCEPT my WordPress blogs. JUST last week, I'd set up a new one on my main spiritual healing, spiritual awakening and spiritual growth website.
That WordPress blog was nowhere to be seen. But even MORE importantly, my main WP blog here at "Angela's Voice" couldn't be resurrected. I'm not a technie. So after clicking around, trying to login to the admin panel, I gave up and wrote off an email to my host asking for WP blog support....
Last night, I got an update that allllll my blog posts on that WP blog were corrupted and of course, dear Angie hadn't saved her stuff. MONTHS of loving blogging GONE. I didn't even get upset.
For WEEKS, I've been getting the guidance that my AV blog was unsecure. Both in terms of being hacked.. I'd learnt that a WP blog being hacked is a common phenomenon... and also from the standpoint that my posts were not backed-up.
I searched through forums to find out what I could do about decreasing the 'hack' risk but everything was soooo techie. The guidance 'nudges' increased in frequency. I asked a few people what I could do to secure it... still nothing. I did get to change to Blogger but since I'd converted because of WP's categorisation feature, I was loathe to switch back....
Right. ;-)
Well, now I'm back to my darling, original Blogger platform. Now owned by Google. And I feel like I'm back at home, safe and sound.
Because all Blogger posts are stored/published via the main blogger site even though this blog is on my own domain, I can NEVER LOSE my blog posts. I have blog posts going back to the very beginning, when I first started to blog in August, 2004.
NOTHING has ever been lost since that time!!!
So, even though it won't be as easy for either you or me to find related posts, I prefer knowing that my blog is safe... ;-)
IF you know of a way to add categories to a Blogger blog when it's hosted on the owner's domain, PLEASE share. I'd LOVE to add this to this new, Blogger version of the "Angela's Voice" blog.
OK, now to see if I set up all the publishing, feed and archiving parameters correctly... Off to click 'Publish'! ;-)

PS To get new blog post notifications, please drop your contact details in the relevant boxes in the right margin... ;-) I NEVER was able to figure out how to add those 'boxes' in the now-gone WP blog... With Blogger, all template customisations are 'old hat'!!!!
